Getting started

  1. Get some JUNOX from a faucet:
    1. https://discord.com/channels/816256689078403103/842073995059003422
    2. If you cannot access this link, go to https://discord.com/invite/juno to get into the Juno discord
    3. The channel is #faucet in the Validators section
  2. Register a (de)NS name on https://dens.vercel.app/
  3. Go to https://alpha.howl.social/ and connect your wallet
  4. Post a howl! ($HOWL is not necessary to do this)

A lot of the social staking features are quite novel - but if you’re confused about what a number is, hover over it and you will usually get a tooltip with a helpful explanation.

User dashboard

On the top right is info about the alias you’re using. Aliases are automatically added from your wallet. If you click on the dropdown, you can switch between aliases you own, or load any other alias. If you have voting power in a DAO, you can load the DAO’s alias to propose Howl actions. You can also load other aliases you do not have access to from your current wallet in order to view their feed, but they will be in read-only mode and unable to perform any actions. The dashboard also gives a count of your posts and followers/following, which also serve as links to those sections of your profile.

Wallet

On the top right is your wallet. Listed for you here are:

Staking

Staking is an epoch based system, meaning rewards are distributed every x blocks. Currently this is configured for roughly every hour on testnet for 24 hours. On mainnet this will be daily for 14 days. After each epoch you earn rewards which you can claim at any time, after the end of the epochs you can also claim back your original stake.
